As I was watching Pueblo Chico Infierno Grande last night, I remembered a scene about something Leonarda's sister said to her, after she gave her niece an apple. That you shouldn't accept or gives apples, because if you do, you are inviting someone to commit a sin, or something. In this case, Genaro gave Leonarda the apples, and now they're having an affair, him being a poor 20 yr old boy, she being a wealthy, now formerly respectable widow of about 40 or something. Then I remembered that Aladdin gave Jasmine apples twice. Once in the hovel, and another in the AWNW scene. Just struck me kind of an odd coincidence.
That's just what happens to me. Everytime I think, no, maybe...well, it sort of doesn't make much sense to me. I've always thought both Al and his dad would have a shifty past, as AG put it . Al before he married Jasmine, and Cassim both before he got married and after he went to find the HoM. I mean, both of them always struck me as the kind of guys who...well, let's just say, couldn't go for very long...you know what I mean.
That would be why like I said, I am perfectly convinced that Al wasn't a virgin, I mean in the end of KoT, he did seem to know what he was doing. I mean, I really don't believe Cassim really went so long without...I mean the guy did think he was a widower for so long. Well, after a while he was, but you know what I mean. But see, did it ever strike you odd that there were no women in the thieves' lair? Of course, the other thieves, I can see why, but for the Cassim. Unless they were all gays. Which in Saluk's case, is true, cause I think he had a think for the palace guards, he did undress them, after all. Kidding. But it did strike me rather odd that the King did not have his own little harem to enjoy himself. Or at least that he went out every now and then, and didn't come back until morning.

I tend to side more that way too, but then sometimes I kinda doubt myself and think it over and maybe think no...but then I go back to what I thought originally

True. I've heard it's because guys don't like to be compared or something.

Yes, I find it quite difficult to believe that Al remained...um, pure for the day when he got married. First, because everyone knows what guys are like, and second, I don't think he ever thought he'd be married, do you? And of course, he is so hot, so maybe it was the girls who were after him, I mean, I know I would've been.
Guys have been pressured to lose their virginity before marriage for centuries. Yet, girls have to be pure until they're married or be damned as "haymarket wares". Talk about your double standard.

Ah, that's another one "Was he or wasn't he" before he got married? I haven't been able to really decide myself cause that's another one you can argue either way

You've inspired me to come up with an ex for Aladdin. Perhaps they really liked each other, but her parents, or her "clique" however you want to go with it, told her, "That streetrat's no good for you," and she listened to them. (I figure said girlfriend, though not a princess was upper classed.) Maybe I'll come up with a story where she comes back. She married someone her family and friends approved of, but she's not very happy. Perhaps her husband turned out to be a gambler, drunkard or womanizer, and she just sits at home taking care of the kids. Anyway, she one day finds Aladdin again, and realizes her parents were wrong about him, but it's too late to change her life.
Ok, so a certain Avril Lavigne song also helped me to come up with that, but I can so easily take the story from that song and tweak it a bit to turn it into an element of Aladdin's life.

Yeah, any girlfriends he might have had I never really thought of their relationship being all candy and rainbows, and probably not even love. I always feel like there was one girl that just kinda broke his heart, though. I don't know if I'm sounding like a Mary Sue fic right now, but I just have this "ended bad" or "not much luck" feeling whenever I think about this subject

The guard who burst in on Al and Jas. Was not Rasoul. It was Fazal. Rasoul was waiting outside and grabbed him after they jumped out the window.
That's right! I remember now!
I will have to watch that scene again to get a good look at the guards.

It's always been a personal judgement he was with at least *ONE* other girl before Jasmine with or without the line in EMDJ. You can argue either way, but I like giving him a shifty past
Oh, I can easily conceive that he had at least one other girlfriend. Though, before Jasmine, I think his main concerns were finding food and ducking the palace guards. "...always scraping for food and ducking the palace guards..."

Heeey, what are you implying?
Al is too polite to try anything too forward! Okay, maybe he's had a few girls in his hovel.
Just a few? There's a reason he knew why he knew to tell Jasmine to watch her head when coming in
.
"Yeah, the last girl that came here got knocked out by that board and never woke back up."
Hmmm...I was always under the impression that Aladdin didn't have too many (if any) girlfriends before Jasmine.
I know what he said in that one episode, but maybe he was just telling Jas what he thought she wanted to hear. (Which ep was that, BTW?)
