Quasimodo didn't end up with Esmeralda, but at least she was his friend. In the book, she really isn't that nice to him (aside from when she gives him water when he's being ridiculed by the mob) because she can't get past his appearance. Not to mention that Phoebus is a jerk. <br /> <br />Actually, when I was a kid, I wasn't that scared of what Quasimodo looked like. He just looked...different. Besides, what he lacked in looks, he made up for with his heart.
