[quote="Merkal"]I've been making webpages for 8 years and though I don't claim I'm an expert I did learn a few things. Some of the most important are: [list]Don't go heavy on images unless it's an image gallery. No background sounds, it is so 90's and very annoying while listing to your own music. I'm planning to do everything by hand. -_-;
It might be tough but it'll be tougher for me with a program. Me and programs don't get along. -_-;
Besides, Notepad is readily available.
And thanks for the advice, guys.

Learn to code HTML by hand in Notepad.
Also, learn some CSS (or keep it written down in a text document for reference).
Remember, web-page design programs are for wusses!

That's the color scheme of my Livejournal and it doesn't hurt my eyes at all.

Post subject: making web pages
Does anyone have any tips on how to make a web page?
I don't need any heavy instructions or anything, (I've already got my step-by-step instructions) just simple advice like, "Never, ever make all the text glittery and flashing."
Or, "Always have images or pictures."
If any of you are experienced with making your own web pages, I would appreciate any help
