Sadly yeah, the best you can do is just try to be careful and keep yourself hygienic as much as possible. Last week Budapest got hit with this virus, though outside of 1 case in Debrecen, all the others are people from other countries, mostly from Iran. Really thankful that I live at the very edge of the city and already travel as little as possible. Still worried though. The cases where they were found is very close to where my mother works (and hospital where they quarantined people are also like next house) and for her this might be fatal if she gets infected with it. Not exactly a worry-free time for sure. Least the government here took it very seriously, to the point they already cancelled the March 15th celebration and events and quarantine any possible cases (along with keeping everything clean. Even public transportation is super clean now). They are also considering closing down schools and universities temporary and least double checking people who could be infected.
Ouch. Hope you will be alright.
Sadly the vaccine does not stop you from getting covid, just helps you combat it. My cousin who works as a nurse told me about it.

Oh no! I'm 3 days late to this - How are things going now?
Thankfully good. We got a proper testing and luckily no covid for the time being. Although we try to be cautious now as mother's colleagues got the covid and our immune system is definitely bit weakened now thanks to this stomach bug that is going around.
Still, things in my country are becoming weird. Most people wear masks again as the cases are rising again. I also keep an eye on myself as I am in contact with people a lot via my work.

Well, yesterday right after my work shift I learnt mother has covid. Quite worried to be honest. Sure, she got vaccinated, but her asthma still a factor.
Also had to call my work today as we still live in 1 house. Further info will come this afternoon, but they already told me that I won't be able to come this weekend for sure.

The only place we went during the possible time period was to get food. We're thinking it was a local taco stand.
My symptoms came and went really quickly. My fiance is just really tired now. And can't smell, which he has found very amusing.

Yikes, I'm glad you guys aren't doing too bad cause I've heard it varies from person to person.
Do you have any idea where you picked it up from?

Welp, it happened everybody. I got the 'rona. My symptoms have been few and really mild. My fiance has had every symptom in the book, but the severity has been that of a man-cold. Looks like we're riding it out pretty well.
Super glad I cancelled my trip home! Symptoms started the day before what would have been our flight! We cancelled Hanukkah with his (local) parents too, as soon as we had a hint of symptoms.

Our original venue canceled all of their events due to COVID, so we did need to find a new venue. Our new venue didn't have our original date, but they had the next day. So our date got pushed back one day, which I didn't see as a big deal. It's not until next October, so if all goes well with the vaccine, it looks like we'll be in good shape!

Aw, that sucks
Have you pushed your wedding back, too, or has an official date never been set yet?

I canceled my flight home for Christmas today
Was supposed to have my wedding tasting, go wedding dress shopping, and see my family for the first time since last Christmas. But I just didn't feel right about traveling during the holidays. Super bummed about it.

Things are starting to get rationed again where I live (toilet paper, napkins, hand sanitizer, etc.) in part because things are worse than before since we didn't do this right the first time, but also because of Thanksgiving travel which is going to make things way worse going in to December. I'm great, though, everyone I know is in great health.
