I should also add that I'll be so ready to sign any online petitions, written petitions, individual letters, online emails or w/e that needs to be sent to Disney. I think (if the rumor is true) that we alwyas have our fellow mousies on other sites who can make a lot of noise. If we do ALL of those, it could really help.
BUT I want Disney to confirm it themselves before acting because I don't want to cause a lot of hype, company bashing, flame wars, and cries of racism that I know will spread all over the internet if it was all for nothing |

::GASPS AT THIS NEWS::
Man, it took me forever to read all of those pages. I'm just now hearing of this.
At first I was excited about Rapunzel coming out. The animation looks great (a 3D and 2D hybrid makes for a great effect) and it's directed by Glen Keane!
But I'll hate it if they replace Jas I'll just hate it. I think she's more popular (and an actual princess) than others like Mulan (although I like Mulan)
But I doubt this is true because it's not like they can't make room in their posters/DVDs AND Rapunzel is a CG character! She would look so weird with the others. |

I've seen copies, but that doesn't mean it's not in the vault |

Whew! I was like RUN To EBAY Quickly and get all the Jasmine merchandise as you can! Did they put Aladdin in the vault? I have seen the movie out in stores lately. |

Relax, this was like two years ago. It hasn't happened and Disney IS coming out with a Rapunzel movie so she WILL be a Disney character. |

Wait, that can't be true! Repunzel is not even a Disney character! She's from storybooks and that stupid Barbie movie. If they don't own it,they can't put it on their merchandise,so calm down ppl! |

Regaurding the whole getting rid of Jasmine, maybe what whoever meant was that Disney expects to replace Jasmine with Rapunzel IN POPULARITY. Firstly, it wouldn't be at all politically correct to get rid of Jasmine (cries of racism would abound). Secondly, Disney is still a business and will act in a way they think makes them money, so if Jas is still bringing in the dough, I wouldn't expect to see her taken of the shelves. |
I still think this is a plan to promote Rapunzel more than anything else, by putting her on the merchandise with the other princesses... |

Yeah, especially b/c the newer Disney movies, w/ the possible exception of Lilo and Stitch, suck. |

Was the Farscape one an online petition, or an actual letter-writing campaign? Because if it was the latter, they do have a history of working...sometimes. But you'd need a lot more people than we've got. |
As a psychotic Farscape fan, I can say there was a looooot more to it than an internet petition. In fact, the internet petition IMHO was a waste. Farscape fans actually went out an held events to gain support for the show... and then went and found financial backers for the miniseries on their own. Once the miniseries was set, the fans then went and produced their own television commercials for the miniseries, and actually bought airtime for said commercials on major cable networks. So really, an online petition had nothing to do with it at all. |

if anyone gets some hard proof that Disney is actually taking Jasmine off, make a post and we should all make a petition!!!!!!!!!!!
No but I'm bein serious! |
Online petitions don't work. |
Oh my goodness I know. It was a bit late when I suggested that lol. If only there was a way we could do actual paper one....
(thinks too hard.)
DAH! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!
