I guess they figured the only thing kids want is all the candy in the world, all the toys in the world, and to be rich and famous.

Okay, this is only tangentially related to Aladdin; hopefully noone minds. In honor of the DVD release, they took a poll of what people would choose if they had 3 wishes:

Asked to pick three wishes from a list, 70 per cent wanted their children to be happy and successful, 56 per cent hoped for a world free of war and poverty and 39 per cent to have a lasting marriage.

Carolyn Spivey of Disney said the results were "surprising".
