I just tried something that might fix the problems some of you are having with getting logged out. If any of you are still getting logged out all the time please let me know and I'll keep trying. ^^ _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! ...and it prevented me from logging in at all. Back to the drawing board.
Option two: are you guys who are having problems using AOL? _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Hi, this is AG. It seems I have been logged out and cannot log back in . It's always on automatic log-in, but now it's not working. |

Hey, your signature is actually centered! Before I saw the center tags and was wondering why the hell did you have those there when they weren't working? |

Er, I put it back to how it was originally, not sure why that is. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

I'm on a different computer now and everything is fine. I guess it's just the one downstairs going crazy |

Not that anyone cares, but whoo! I got it to work again!
I just had to clear my cookies and delete temporary internet files and it let me back on with no problem. Maybe that'll work for others? |

I think that's one of the Microsoft Rules of Internetting. "When in doubt, empty your Temporary Internet folder." _________________ *

Heather- This is DP, and yes, AOL is the source of my getting-logged-out problems. (It logs me in, and then when it re-navigates me to the forum index, it logs me out, even though I ask it to always log me on.) If I'm signed on with AOL, sometimes I can open a seperate Internet Explorer window and everything works just fine....until IE dies. Ah well. Props to you for working so hard to make this site everyone-friendly. *misses her AOL-less laptop and high-speed campus connection*

Aha! I thought that might be it:

It's because AOL uses dynamic IPs instead of static ones. Apparantly there is a fix, but it would leave us a bit more vulnerable to hackers. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Yeah, not worth it. Sometimes IE works. It doesn't take much effort to sign my posts; I can deal.
