This time last year we probably talked about Stargate Atlantis more than Aladdin. Laughing

I saw Sailor Moon way back when I was in middle school; I think it was the first anime I ever watched (not including all those fairy tales on Nickelodeon that I didn't realize were anime at the time Laughing

).

I know a little about it, and I've seen a few episodes as well. SM isn't exactly one of my favourites, but there are some characters I find interesting.

Watched it a lot when it was showing on Cartoon Network. Mind you, it was edited and dubbed, but it was pretty entertaining.

I used to like Sailor Moon when I was in elementary school, I still do. I'm buying the dvds now, since I couldn't watch it then. Sad

Well... just because I was feeling bored-ish I decided to watch a few episodes.

Then I decided to compare the Japanese and English versions. I only did it was the first episode; it would've gotten too painful to go on longer.

-Who IS this "Darien Shields" guy? He's a jerk who talks like his pants are a few sizes too small.

-Beryl sounded like the Wicked Witch.

-DiC's actress for Serena was surprisingly good. Cloverway... oh... argh... ouch. WHAT were they trying to go for? I don't think I've ever come across anyone chewing on the scenery THIS hard.

-Luna... well, sounded like an old lady. I always thought of her as a cranky old lady anyway, but THIS was insane.

-They totally ate the music. I knew they'd ruined the themesong, but changing the henshin and Moon Tiara Action/Magic musics was a bit nutty.

Now I have an even deeper understanding as to why dubs are so despised.

When I was ill, I spent all day watching all of the episodes up to Sailor Stars the last season. It was awesome totally loved it.
