Get the DVD2AVI thing open. Make the clips you want. Save the AVI file, but when you do this choose one of the DIVx options that you can use to compress the file. Fast or Slow motion will do. Then press save, or ok, or whatever button allows you to continue and it should save. |
I didn't get any options really, just if I wanted it to be recompressed, or with frames. That's it. I don't understand what's going on, it should be working, but it's saying that the video I'm trying to import is either invalid or corrupted. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

After you told the AVI where you want to send it, a little box didn't pop up with the option about compressing the files? It think the default says "no recompression". You want to click that and change it to a Divx option. |

There is no Divx option, I've tried numerous times. I must be doing something wrong.
Here's what I do. I hit the beginning bracket at the beginning of the clip I want. I then click forward through all the frames that I want, and then I hit the end bracket. I go up to File, hit SAVE AVI, then a lil box appears, and asks if I want Recompression or Compressed Frames... I hit the comptressed frames, or the recompression, and nothing works.
I think maybe I'm not capturing the clips right, but like I said, it doesn't play... unless I've done something wrong there. I'm so confused. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

There's no list of other options that pop up anywhere in that box? |

Two little boxes should pop up: one on the left and one on the right. The one on the right should have the Divx options, but you have to scroll down from the compression option. |

And you've used the "recompression" option? Or clicked on it to see if there is anything else in that column?
That second box works once the first one is out of the way. It's the progress of the saving. |

Hmm, you can't pick one of the DivX options as a format anywhere? That's strange. It's supposed to be there. You are on the DVD2AVI thing, right? Used the brackets to get the clip, went to save, chose a folder to place it in, a little box popped up and there was no Divx option? |

Yeah, I went to file, said SAVE AVI, it asked what I wanted to name the folder, then it gave me the compression options... then it saved it. I can find the folder, but not box popped up with the Divx options. I'm pretty sure I'm doing this right... I knew this wasn't going to be easy. I'm thinking about erasing all the files and starting again. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

You could try that, but I know there has to be something screwy with the program. Did you try the help option to see if your problem fits anything? Or if they will tell you how to do it? But I know that's how you do it, though. |

The clips or the files that you turned into clips? Either way you just delete the folder that holds all of it. |
