I've found that once in some newspaper.
"Don't cheat by scrolling down first! It takes less than a minute... Work this out as you read. This is fun!
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have dinner out (try for more than once but less than ten).
2. Multiply this number by two (just to be bold).
3. Add five (for Sunday).
4. Multiply it by fifty (I'll wait until you get the calculator).
5. If you have already had your birthday this year, add 1753. If you haven't, add 1752.
6. Now subtract the four-digit year that you were born.
**********************************************
You should have a three-digit number. The first digit of it was your original number (i.e. how many times you wanted to eat out each week). The next two numbers are... YOUR AGE! (Oh yes, it is!!!)
2003 is the only year it will ever work."
And it IS true! _________________

Change 1753/1752 to 1756/1755 and it'll work accurately for this year. _________________

First number was right, but I'm 24, not 21. Unless I'm just that bad at math.
They're probably just betting everyone picks two times a week, since you're not allowed to choose one... _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

I changed it to 1756. It worked for me, my sister and my mom. for eating out, I picked 7 times and then 9 times and it worked for both. |

Yeah, my first number was right (3), but I haven't been 17 in 3 years |

...Hence why I mentioned adjusting the number you add by three. _________________

...it means that in 2003 you were 21, right? _________________

Neat. Another piece of math that, though it works, totally fries my brain at the moment. _________________ *
