I know this is an Aladdin forum, but the Lion King is one of my favorite films.

The entire series is now available on DVD. YEAH. (Even though I already have them seperately, I'm still getting it)

Not to change the subject, but wasn't there an Aladdin one coming out like that, too? *scratches head*

My friend is a LK fanatic and she's doing the same thing even though she owns them all and doesn't like the second one Laughing

Cancelled?

It made it over here to the UK. Does this mean that we actually do get the good stuff sometimes? Shocked

I ended up importing the US Collector's Gift Set and getting the UK trilogy set.

Back on topic, my girlfriend's already got all the Lion King DVDs so I gave the box set a miss. Though I think she was a little annoyed that she bought all 3 then they brought out the set. With Aladdin they didn't make that mistake. Over here they brought out Aladdin and the box set at the same time, then released the single disc RoJ and KoT after Christmas.

Sometimes? You guys get better stuff ALL the time. Your dolls alone is enough to make me move over there to get them for cheap. Observe:

I totally prefer the UK Aladdin to the US Aladdin ANY DAY Laughing

AG, it wasn't cancelled, it's all over FYE over here. Very Happy

And it comes in a pretty case!

I think the back has the cave of wonders with some swirly Genie smile in the sky, but I'm not sure...I must migrate to FYE and check it out...if it wasn't so expensive, and I already had the first, I'd get it myself. Crying or Very sad

I wouldn't open it if it didn't contain the movies, too - the DVDs always fall out of it when I open it. Rolling Eyes

I see what you mean about the dolls! But you guys generally get a much better price on stuff like games, DVDs, CDs, etc. Then again, that's from a UK POV when I guess it doesn't seem like that if you live over there all the time.

Yeah that's the same box set I have. It's a slip case, you remove the middle and it folds out. The front is the same as the slip case only without any of the writing, the back is the same as the US collector's goft set cover, only without the logos etc, and the cave is smaller so the overall picture appears larger and has Al and Jas (as the appear on disc 1) on carpet in the top left corner.

When you open it once you just get a larger picture of the cave (on the right, desert on the left_, then you open it again to get the four discs. Starting with Aladdin disc 1 on the left and ending with KoT on the right. The background is the Cave treasure chamber. Aladdin, Abu and Carpet are in the treasure on the right, behind and just to the right of disc 1, whilst on the other side, under KoT is Jafar and Iago.

I think the disc art for RoJ and KoT is different too. The 2 Aladdin discs are the same apart from the "PG" and "G" logos. RoJ takes the Jafar and Iago on mountain edge from Aladdin SE box art and has that on the right. The background is purple at the top fading into pink/red, then orange then yellow. The title is just "The Return of Jafar Special Edition" no "Aladdin 2" like was added to the US version.

KoT again takes the cave entrance from the US gift set but this time has it on the left. The image on the right is the one of Aladdin and Jasmine in their wedding outfits with Iago holding up the ring on a pillow, I think it's from the back of the original video release (at least it was here in the UK).

Think that's everything.
