Hey everyone! Sorry that I've been totally MIA for the past little bit. Embarassed

I saw the live action Aladdin yesterday. I actually watched it in Quebecois French because I am completing a five week French immersion program in Quebec, so my thoughts are a bilingual jumble of Frenglish (French/English) Smile

For those who have watched the movie, what are your thoughts/opinions/whatever on it? It would be interesting to see what everyone thinks.

I thought that discussion was just for info before the film was released. Once I watch the movie in English, I will make sure to write my thoughts out!

I did, actually! But I forgot to take a picture. I wasn't as themed as you guys are, though. I am loving the dedication!!

That was my outfit exactly. I decided I wasn't breaking out my vintage stuff on the off chance something happens to it, so I went for new, replaceable stuff Laughing

The seemingly random Iago pin was in honor of my partner in crime for literally half my life, Salukfan, who passed away in December of last year so I had to bring her with me ♥

I actually understood a good portion of the dub, but sometimes it was difficult. Quebecois French is quite different than traditional French, due to the slang or the use of Anglicisms, but it was interesting to watch none the less. Actually, I want to watch the film in traditional French and compare the words that are chosen. I know that there are differences between the titles of the songs, for instance.

I didn't wear any of my Aladdin merchandise to this screening, but when I watch the movie back home in English, I want to wear my Aladdin t-shirt.

I remember SalukFan too and was quite sad reading the comment of her passing. She seemed like an amazing person and I am incredibly sorry for your loss, AladdinsGenie.

I loved it! I saw it with my grandfather and I had a great time! I loved Will Smith, and I thought Mena Massoud really fit the part of Aladdin nicely, and Naomi Scott was great as Jasmine as well.
